For a light hearted fic, it'd be fun to see their snuggle sessions involve advice on how to seduce John and Rose, respectively.
Or, if you want to go for a slightly darker fic, they could be discussing the deaths of everyone back on Alternia or some other somber topic, and are using each other as hug-outlets for emotional reassurance.
