Reluctant to drive or not, it's never a good feeling when your car is having issues. It's even worse when the dealership says it will cost more than you /payed/ for the car to fix it (and half of the things they "found" are falsities to drive up the price). But it's just sucky when you fix one problem for another to pop up.

So, do I believe the dealer and think that the radiator is cracked, along with both hoses, and needs about $3000 to fix? Or do I try the fix-it-yourself route with my more mechanically inclined people and try changing the hoses ourselves, and pray the radiator really isn't cracked? Or do I take it to another person who can fix it cheaper and pray they don't mess up with BMW's proprietary equipment?

Ugh, I don't need this plz...

If you fix it yourself, what are the chances that you'll end up making the problem worse?

If you know someone you trust enough to fix it, let them take a stab at it. Otherwise, I vote pray.

My dad is my go-to person, so I'm in the green there. It's just frustrating (as is he, at times)
