Thirty not-quite-unrelated stories that lead our darling detective and his frustrating foe along the path of romance.
30 separate yet connected one-shots from everyone's points of view as Kaito and Shinichi start on the rocky road to a relationship.

1. Conan & Aoko
- Aoko finds someone she recognizes in Conan. Conan begins putting the pieces together.
2. Conan & Kid
- Kid's favorite critic is in top form tonight, and Kid is having far too much fun.
3. Nakamori & Conan
- Nakamori is not happy at Conan's crazy stunts to catch Kid. Conan is not happy at Nakamori's failure to learn from past mistakes. Snark ensues.
4. Nakamori & Sonoko
- Sonoko has a thing or two to say to the person harassing her Kid-sama. Nakamori wonders why the young don't respect his authority, dammit.
5. Hakuba & Conan
- Hakuba takes a moment to observe Conan.
6. Kaito & Conan
- Conan has tracked down Kaito. What's a thief to do but deny, deny, deny!
7. Ayumi & Kid
- Ayumi wants to talk to Kid about Conan. Kid is surprisingly accommodating.
8. Conan & Ayumi
- Ayumi has always known Conan liked someone else. A confrontation leads to the question of who is it really?
9. Mitsuhiko & Conan
- Mitsuhiko isn't dumb. Nor is he in love with Conan. So when Conan slips one time too many, Mitsuhiko can't help but ask who are you really?
10. Sonoko & Kaito
- Upon finding another Kid enthusiast, Sonoko decides they are also competing for Kid's heart. Conan is amused.
11. Akako & Heiji
- Through some twist in fate (or the aftermath of a Kid heist), Heiji runs into Akako. Akako contemplates fools, and Heiji has a request.
12. Heiji & Conan
- Conan doesn't believe in magic. Heiji doesn't care.
13. Ai & Conan
- Ai's greatest fear is failing. She's willing to give up anything; her life, her happiness, even the triumph of finding the cure herself, to see Conan happy.
14. Conan & Shinichi
- Conan has to give up everything he has now so Shinichi can come back to everything he's already lost.
15. Kid & Shinichi
- The rivals finally meet face to face. But where's the fun in chasing someone you don't want to catch? Kid shows Shinichi you can't keep Kid from something he wants.
16. Takagi & Kid
- He wasn't quite sure how it happened, but Takagi finds he has cornered Kid. Kid has a little fun at our poor officer's expense.
17. Takagi & Shinichi
- Takagi has heard a lot about Shinichi. And apparently Shinichi has heard a lot about Takagi. Perhaps it's not the after life, but the break room's as good a place as any.
18. Takagi & Kaito
- Takagi has a case of mistaken identity. Kaito has a little fun at our poor officer's expense.
19. Kazuha & Shinichi
- Kazuha finally gets to confront that Kudo hussy who's been taking Heiji from her. Interrupted by a murder (what else), Kazuha finally sees what drew Heiji to Shinichi.
20. Ran & Shinichi
- Friends forgive each other. Best friends don’t even need to say a word.
21. Hakuba & Shinichi
- Hakuba takes a moment to observe Shinichi, and draws a startling conclusion. When you have eliminated the impossible, what remains is the truth, no matter how improbable.
22. Mitsuhiko & Shinichi
- In the wake of another murder, Mitsuhiko wonders if Shinichi ever cared at all. But of course, friends don't forget so easily.
23. Mitsuhiko & Kaito
- Mitsuhiko sees Kaito and Shinichi. Whatever else, Shinichi is his friend, and Mitsuhiko is determined to show it.
24. Ayumi & Shinichi
- Ayumi finally understands. Now she's determined to get Shinichi to understand too.
25. Aoko & Shinichi
- Aoko is Kaito's best friend, and is determined to make sure Kaito stays safe, even at the cost of her heart, or his. But when she meets the detective on her friend's case, she has to wonder whose heart is in danger.
26. Ran & Aoko
- Aoko knows Kaito is sweet, but cold. Ran knows Shinichi is warm, but distant. Both decide something needs to be done
27. Kaito & Ayumi
- Ayumi needs to talk to Kaito about Shinichi. Kaito is not-so-surprisingly accommodating.
28. Kaito & Ran
- Ran lays out some painful truths to Kaito. He must decide how much of this is a game, and how much Shinichi really means to him.
29. Kaito & Kid
- Kid cannot give up his mission. Kaito cannot give up Shinichi. Can his two halves find a balance, or will it all come crashing down.
30. Shinichi & Kaito
- There is only one truth. So perhaps the best way to hide it is in plain sight.

Date: 2009-12-17 01:29 am (UTC)Mitsuhiko is a fun one. I'm about 3 pages in to his chapter, and it's barely started because he's busy explaining what he's been doing up until now. XD So far I've had feedback that it's good, but let's see how he handles Conan first. Expect it to be up soonish, if I don't fall sick (again).

Date: 2010-01-17 11:11 pm (UTC)I absolutely adore the things that you're touching on here - like Shinichi's relationship with the Shounen Tantei (I agree that he definitely sees them as real friends - regardless of the age difference), and other people's views on Conan's eccentricities (like Nakimori and Hakuba's)!
Can't wait to see the up coming chapters whenever you have time to read and/or write them!

Date: 2010-01-21 11:28 pm (UTC)This time, you get to see Mitsuhiko's views on Conan's eccentricities. He wasn't terribly easy to write, but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, even /if/ it wasn't like I'd planned. XD I will slowly but slowly continue writing~
(And you know, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you think is happening in the background of the series. XD "Off camera", so to speak.)

Date: 2010-01-26 03:00 pm (UTC)*hums* This series is a "everything happens in the background" sort of story, I think. Each chapter is just a brief window into the world. So while you will get an idea of what happens when Shinichi turns back, or when he meets the ST again, there's not guarantee you get to see that "on screen" so to speak. ^_^;; Oh dear...but that's how this story has always been planned. Hope you can still enjoy it!
Takagi somehow elbowed his way in, and stole /three/ chapters. Three! And all in a row too! XD But that's okay, because he's ♥.

Date: 2010-01-27 05:23 pm (UTC)As to who finds out? Well, it's not terribly obvious who knows or who doesn't, except as you see them in each chapter, but iirc Takagi, Ran, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Hakuba all realize they are one and the same. But I could be wrong. XD
You should read the Magic Kaito manga! I believe you can find the Clock Tower special there as well? Regardless, try onemanga.com for reading online. I'm sure you can find the chapter there♥.
